The Altinkaya's location between Bellapais and Kyrenia gives guests easy access to two of North Cyprus's finest attractions. Bellapais Abbey — a magnificent 13th-century Gothic monastery with sweeping views over Kyrenia Bay — is just a 5-minute drive and well worth a morning visit. For those who enjoy walking, the ancient Crusader Path from nearby Ozankoy village leads up to Bellapais and makes for a rewarding and scenic walk.
Kyrenia town is just 1.5 miles away — the recently renovated harbour is one of the most picturesque in the Eastern Mediterranean, dotted with boats and lined with colourful waterfront bars and restaurants, and overlooked by the impressive Venetian castle. Boat trips along the coast depart from the harbour regularly. The nearest sandy beach is around 12 minutes by car, and the Ozankoy Carob Festival in August is a wonderful insight into local Cypriot traditions for guests visiting in summer.
