Just next door to the resort is a protected beach area where sea turtles lay their eggs and if you hit the right season, you can watch the mother turtle burying her eggs, or the cute little hatchlings scrabbling down to the sea – an amazing site, which children also enjoy.  Please check with your Rep for information on organised turtle watching sessions.  Just down the road, is also the ancient Roman ruins of Salamis, once a mighty Roman port and now ideal for a day out exploring ancient gymnasiums, temples - another great attraction for children.  Further historical and natural delights await you the more you wander. For those seeking more activity, the “bright lights” of Famagusta town are less than 10 miles away and offer a variety of cafes, bistros, bars and restaurants as well as an opportunity to see Othello’s Tower and Citadel, mentioned in Shakespeare’s play of the same name.
